Ferrite cores!

Those little lumps at the end of your cords and cables are called ferrite cores or chokes. They are groups of magnetic iron oxide used to suppress high-frequency electromagnetic interference. An example of this would be the interference you notice when you use a phone while being too close to a speaker.
